THE INTERNATIONAL MILITARY TRIBUNAL AT NUREMBERG: EXAMINING ITS LEGACY 75 YEARS LATER

Seventy-five years ago, an International Military Tribunal convened at Nuremberg, Germany to judge twenty-one senior high ranking Nazi civilian and military officials for conspiring and waging aggressive war, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.  Forever the landscape of accountability in armed conflict changed from a matter between states to states holding individuals accountable.  The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School commemorates this seminal international military tribunal and subsequent U.S. military tribunals at Nuremberg by examining their legacy 75 years later.
