Prerequisites: This course presents advanced federal employment law and labor-management relations topics to Department of Defense (DoD) military and civilian attorneys. This is the third iteration of the course, previously titled the Army Senior Labor Counselor Forum (ASLCF). Core topics include: Equal Employment Opportunity substantive law, procedure, and best practices, reasonable accommodation, federal litigation practice, procedure, and settlement strategies, federal labor-management relations, personnel management, Merit Systems Protection Board substantive law, procedure, and best practices, Fair Labor Standards Act litigation, and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
This course is by INVITATION ONLY to DoD military and civilian attorneys who are serving in a federal labor and employment law position, acting in a labor counselor capacity for at least 50% of their portfolio. Applicants outside of DoD will also be considered for acceptance into the course. Since this course is designed as an advanced course in federal labor and employment law, applicants should have no less than three years of federal labor and employment law experience. All prospective students must complete the Course Application below. This course will be conducted via distance learning.
An acceptance decision will be made by the Course Manager by COB Monday, 19 October 2020 as to whether an applicant is invited or will be wait-listed. Any applicant that is wait-listed will be notified by COB Monday, 2 November 2020 if they are invited to attend.
